 68500 शिक्षक भर्ती में चयनित लगभग चार हजार शिक्षकों ने हाईकोर्ट से लेकर सुप्रीम कोर्ट तक लड़ाई लड़कर अपनी चार साल की वरिष्ठता हासिल कर ली है। सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने हाईकोर्ट के वरिष्ठता बरकरार रखने के आदेश को सही माना है। इसके साथ ही वरिष्ठता का विवाद अब समाप्त हो गया है। 68500 शिक्षक भर्ती के तहत पहले बैच के अभ्यर्थियों ने पांच सितंबर 2018 को कार्यभार ग्रहण किया था। हालांकि लगभग चार हजार मेरिटोरियस रिजर्व कैटेगरी (एमआरसी) और अनारक्षित वर्ग के शिक्षकों को त्रुटिपूर्ण जिला आवंटित कर दिया गया था। इसके खिलाफ पीड़ित शिक्षकों ने हाईकोर्ट में याचिकाएं की थीं। हाईकोर्ट ने 29 अगस्त 2019 को बेसिक शिक्षा विभाग के अधिकारियों को दोबारा जिला आवंटित करने के निर्देश दिए थे। जिसके बाद पहली सूची में 2908 और दूसरी सूची में 1024 कुल 3932 शिक्षकों को मनपसंद जिले में तैनाती दी गई। इन शिक्षकों ने 18

जुलाई 2022 को संबंधित बेसिक शिक्षा अधिकारी के कार्यालय में कार्यभार ग्रहण किया। जिला बदलने के साथ ही अध्यापक सेवा नियमावली के अनुसार उनकी पूर्व में की गई चार साल की सेवा शून्य हो गई, क्योंकि सहायक अध्यापक का कैडर जिले का होता है। इस पर प्रभावित शिक्षकों ने प्रथम नियुक्ति तिथि यानी पांच सितंबर 2018 से वरिष्ठता देने के लिए हाईकोर्ट में याचिकाएं कर दीं। हाईकोर्ट की एकल पीठ ने अलग- अलग याचिकाओं में पुराने जिले की नियुक्ति तिथि से नए जिले में वरिष्ठता बहाल कर दी थी। इसके खिलाफ बेसिक शिक्षा विभाग ने डबल बेंच में स्पेशल अपील की जिसने सिंगल बेंच का फैसला बहाल रखा। इसके बाद बेसिक शिक्षा विभाग ने डबल बेंच के फैसले को सुप्रीम कोर्ट में चुनौती दी, जो आठ जुलाई को खारिज हो गई।

About four thousand teachers selected in the 68500 teacher recruitment have fought from the High Court to the Supreme Court and have achieved their four years seniority. The Supreme Court has upheld the High Court's order to maintain seniority. With this, the seniority dispute is now over. Under the 68500 teacher recruitment, the candidates of the first batch took charge on September 5, 2018. However, about four thousand Meritorious Reserve Category (MRC) and unreserved category teachers were allotted erroneous districts. The aggrieved teachers had filed petitions in the High Court against this. On August 29, 2019, the High Court had directed the officials of the Basic Education Department to re-allocate the district. After which 2908 in the first list and 1024 in the second list, a total of 3932 teachers were posted in their preferred districts. These teachers took charge in the office of the concerned Basic Education Officer on July 18, 2022. With the change of district, as per the Teacher Service Rules, their previous four years of service became void, because the cadre of assistant teacher is of the district. On this, the affected teachers filed petitions in the High Court to give seniority from the first appointment date i.e. 5 September 2018. A single bench of the High Court had restored seniority in the new district from the appointment date of the old district in different petitions. Against this, the Basic Education Department made a special appeal in the double bench, which upheld the decision of the single bench. After this, the Basic Education Department challenged the decision of the double bench in the Supreme Court, which was rejected on July 8.
