यूपी बोर्ड के नए सत्र की नामित एनसीईआरटी की किताबें बाजार में अब तक नहीं आई हैं और पुरानी किताबें बाजार से नदारद हैं। ऐसे में कक्षा नौ से 12वीं तक के छात्र- छात्राएं निजी प्रकाशकों की पांच गुना से अधिक महंगी किताबें खरीदकर पढ़ाई कर रहे हैं। बीते साल कक्षा नौ से 12वीं की किताबों का जो सेट 200- 300 रुपये में मिलता है, वही सेट निजी प्रकाशकों का 1500 से 2000 रुपये में मिल रहा है। विज्ञान, भौतिक, रसायन, जीव विज्ञान, गणित की किताबें सबसे महंगी हैं। गणित, रसायन विज्ञान, सामाजिक विज्ञान, भूगोल, इतिहास, अंग्रेजी की किताबों की कीमत में भारी अंतर है। उप्र माध्यमिक शिक्षा परिषद की ओर से लखनऊ में यूपी बोर्ड के सरकारी व निजी करीब 750 स्कूल संचालित हो रहे हैं। इनमें कक्षा नौ से 12 वीं तक औसतन दो लाख बच्चे पंजीकृत हैं।

जबकि निजी प्रकाशक की 230 से 290 तक है। 12 वीं की रसायन की 72 वाली किताब निजी प्रकाशक की 400 से अधिक की बिक रही है । जीव विज्ञान की 77 रुपये वाली किताब निजी

प्रकाशक से 400 से अधिक की मिल रही है। अंग्रेजी की आठ से 10 रुपये वाली किताब 100 से अधिक की है। कुछ नामी निजी प्रकाशकों की किताबों के दाम 30% से अधिक हैं।

यूपी बोर्ड में ज्यादा बच्चे गरीब परिवार से है।  बोर्ड को चाहिये कि सत्र शुरू होने के पहले किताबें बाजार में उपलब्ध करानी चाहिये। ताकि बच्चे सस्ती किताबें खरीद सकें।

77 रुपये वाली विज्ञान की किताब 450 में: 

माध्यमिक शिक्षा परिषद की ओर से नामित हाई स्कूल में विज्ञान की किताब बीते साल 66 रुपए की थी । निजी किताब 299 से 350 की बाजार  में है। 12 वीं की 12वीं भौतिक विज्ञान भाग 1 की 56 रुपए वाली किताब निजी प्रकाशक 390 से 430 तक बिक रही है । 10 व 12 वीं में गणित की किताब के दाम 41 से 69 रुपये की बीच थे।

माध्यमिक शिक्षा परिषद द्वारा नामित किताबों के दाम निजी प्रकाशकों की तुलना में काफी कम होते हैं। कक्षा नौ, 10, 11 व 12 में अंग्रेजी की किताबें सबसे सस्ती हैं। बीते साल अंग्रेजी की किताब के दाम आठ से 10 रूपये के बीच में थे। कक्षा 11 की जीवविज्ञान की किताब सबसे महंगी थी जिसके दाम 77 रुपये थे। बीते साल कक्षा नौ से इंटर तक नामित प्रकाशकों ने एनसीईआरटी की 36 किताबें एवं 12 किताबें निजी प्रकाशकों की बाजार में थीं।

टेंडर नहीं होने से किताबों के मिलने में हो रही देरी

अधिकारियों का कहना है कि माध्यमिक शिक्षा परिषद द्वारा एनसीईआरटी के किताबों के प्रकाशन के लिए नामित प्रकाशकों के टेंडर में देरी से किताबें बाजार में पहुंच रही हैं। करीब तीन वर्ष से किताबें सत्र के शुरू में बच्चों को नहीं मिल रही हैं। इस बार भी अभी तक किताबों के लिये टेंडर नहीं हुआ। जिसकी वजह से प्रकाशकों के नाम तय नहीं हुए हैं। जबकि स्कूलों में नया सत्र एक अप्रैल से चल रहा है।

The NCERT books for the new session of UP Board have not yet arrived in the market and the old books are missing from the market. In such a situation, students from class 9 to 12 are studying by buying books from private publishers which are more than five times more expensive. The set of books for class 9 to 12 which was available for Rs 200-300 last year, the same set of private publishers is available for Rs 1500 to 2000. Books of Science, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics are the most expensive. There is a huge difference in the price of books of Mathematics, Chemistry, Social Science, Geography, History, English. About 750 government and private schools of UP Board are being run in Lucknow by the UP Secondary Education Council. On an average, two lakh children are registered in these from class 9 to 12. While the private publisher's book is 230 to 290. The private publisher's book of 72 marks in Chemistry of class 12 is being sold for more than Rs 400. A Biology book costing Rs. 77 is available from private publishers for more than Rs. 400. An English book costing Rs. 8-10 is more than Rs. 100. The prices of books of some well-known private publishers are more than 30% higher.

Most of the children in UP Board are from poor families. The board should make the books available in the market before the session begins. So that children can buy cheap books.

Science book costing Rs. 77 is available for Rs. 450:

Last year, the science book in the high school nominated by the Board of Secondary Education was priced at Rs. 66. Private books are available in the market for Rs. 299-350. A Rs. 56 book of Physics Part 1 of class 12 is being sold by private publishers for Rs. 390-430. The prices of Mathematics books for class 10 and 12 were between Rs. 41-69.

The most expensive book of UP Board is for Rs 77

The prices of books nominated by the Board of Secondary Education are much less than those of private publishers. English books are the cheapest in class 9, 10, 11 and 12. Last year, the prices of English books were between eight to ten rupees. The Biology book of class 11 was the most expensive, which was priced at Rs 77. Last year, from class nine to intermediate, 36 NCERT books and 12 books of private publishers were in the market from the nominated publishers.

Delay in getting books due to lack of tender

Officials say that books are reaching the market due to delay in the tender of publishers nominated by the Board of Secondary Education for publishing NCERT books. For about three years, children are not getting books at the beginning of the session. This time also, tender for books has not been done yet. Due to which the names of publishers have not been decided. Whereas the new session in schools is going on from April 1.
